Opening!
In Bautzen, we not only redesigned the existing skate park, but also took the opportunity to tackle a material experiment that had been close to our hearts for a long time. As we are well aware that (not only) our facilities are built from a conceivably problematic material, we have been thinking for some time about where and where we can counteract this, at least a little. In Bautzen, we have made a small start by reusing the demolition waste from the reconstruction of the previous asphalt surfaces directly on site. Using the so-called circular principle, we meticulously created a staircase by hand. To do this, each stone was first cut as a blank from the old asphalt surface and then sawn at an angle and subsequently installed with the previous undersides and grit mortar as a new wall layer. The steps created in this way allow surface water to drain away and can also be easily removed and reinstalled for any future redesigns.
Of course, this is just a small start, with plenty of room for improvement. But we are keen to continue thinking and experimenting here and welcome any inquiries from and in this direction.
