Why? D.I.Y skateparks are built on people’s own initiative, resulting in unique and creative spaces. Unfortunately, these mostly illegally constructed facilities are often threatened with destruction, whether by authorities or landowners. To prevent this problem, the D(in).I.Y. serves as a guide to ensure that self-built skate elements meet the applicable safety standards while still leaving enough room for individual design options.
